Nearly 31K complaints of crimes against women received in 2021, over half from UP: NCW

 

Lucknow: National Commission for Women chairperson Rekha Sharma has said that about 32,000 cases of crimes against women were reported in the country in the first half of the year, of which 27,000 cases were reported in Uttar Pradesh, including 6,099 complaints from the state in the first six months.

Talking to media here on Saturday, the chairperson said she has received several complaints from Uttar Pradesh of physical and sexual violence.
